This exercise demonstrates the function of the adjective as the describing word. The set contains the 7 diverse types of triangles, each in three colors and each in three sizes (63 triangles total) in a beechwood box with lid. This set of materials combines language skills with geometric shape recognition.
The set consists of a total of sixty-three plastic triangles with the following quantities: 21 yellow, 21 blue and 21 red. These triangles are of assorted sizes and types. Students are encouraged to sort the figures by color, size, and type (i.e. equilateral, isosceles, obtuse) and then describe them according to their attributes. The sorting reenforces the geometric vocabulary and recognition, while the description addresses the language skills (adjectives).
